Patient records are stored securely using Cliniko, a secure practice management system used to manage appointments and clinical records.
Your information may also be processed through trusted service providers that support my business:
- Cliniko — Practice management — appointments and clinical records.
- Cloudflare Pages — Website hosting and content delivery.
- Stripe — Payments.
- GoCardless — Recurring payments, where applicable.
- CoachRx — Exercise programmes and coaching, where applicable.
These providers use appropriate security measures to help protect your information.
How long records are kept
Clinical records are retained in accordance with professional guidance and legal requirements.
For adult patients, records are generally retained for a minimum of eight years after your last appointment.
For children, records are retained until the age of 25 (or 26 if the patient was 17 at the conclusion of treatment), in line with current guidance.
After the appropriate retention period, records are securely destroyed.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Request access to your personal information
- Request that inaccurate information is corrected
- Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances
- Request a copy of your information
- Object to certain types of processing where applicable
Please note that healthcare professionals are legally required to retain clinical records for specified periods, which means records cannot always be deleted on request.
